Hot Socks

The action has begun in the Hot Socks swap on Swapbot. Its been organised by Laura who has said its up to us whether we remain secret or not. My pal's asked me if I want to know who they are and although I've asked my pal the very same question, I can't decide! I think that means I want the secret kept. What do you think?

Its a bit like Christmas really, will I ruin the surprise if I snoop? :-) (I'm afraid I have to admit to being a midnight paper ripper. Boy did I get in trouble!)

I'm waiting till Ally Pally to get my pal's yarn and if I don't see anything there (yeah right!) I think a trip to Posh Yarns might be in order. :-)

The Reveal... The Pics

As promised, a pic of my reveal parcel for SP8 from Terri. Just look at all those goodies! The Thorntons chocolates have disappeared but I have lots of the chilli chocolate left. Its really yummy but quite hot so I can't pig out on it! Probably a good thing really. :-)

A close-up of the hat. Wonder of all wonders - it suits me! Its the first hat I've ever had that I don't feel like a complete dork wearing. :-) And I'm not just saying that to make Terri feel good. Its true!

I'm off to the NEC tomorrow for the Knitting and Stitching Show. I'll be seeing Sue and Fred. If you see me (I'm the bespectacled Aussie redhead with her mother in tow) say hi!

A Mixed Bag

Let's start with this morning. Just as I was about to leave for work I looked out of the window to see this. Golden mists. It was such a lovely morning, crisp, clear and sunny. You really can't ask for more. I love the mornings at this time of year.

This evening there was a lunar eclipse. Excuse the not brilliant picture! Unlike a solar eclipse, the moon doesn't disappear but turns orange/red! The lunar eclipse I saw when I was living in Wales was better than this one for colour because the moon went a really deep red but this was better for the sheer size of the moon. It was HUGE!

Yesterday, my stitchmarkers arrived from the Swapbot swap I joined. They're gorgeous and the loops are made from tigertail I think, flexible and will fit large needles. The needle they're on is a 4mm.

Finally, I have decided to knit Eris, the sweater version. I bought some Cascade 220 from Get Knitted and I'm swatching! I also bought some 15mm Brittany needles. Not to knit Eris with! I've got some Sirdar Bigga bought from the Beatties sale where I got 5 balls for £3.50, that's for all 5 not each! Bargain. I might make the bag from the first issue of Simply Knitting but with a few amendments.

The Great Bookmark Exchange

I should have posted this last week but I'm bad. This is my Great Bookmark Exchange from Esta in Australia. She spoiled me rotten! Just look at the lovely bookmark. Amongst the wonderful goodies she sent was some fibre for spinning! There was also a Cadbury's Furry Friends chocolate bar with a picture of a kangaroo on the wrapper. There are times when I really miss Aussie sweets, sad isn't it? Thank goodness for generous swap partners and Cyber Candy!
