Latest pair of socks finished last Friday. Yarn is from Piece of Beauty in the 'Doll Doll' colourway and was a gift from Purlpower in the Hot Socks exchange. Knit in my standard 'non-pattern' - 60 stitches, toe-up, short rowed toes and heels.
There are now no socks on the needles!!! I've decided to give sock knitting a break for a bit and concentrate on a couple of other things. This will probably only last till about Wednesday...

I don't have time to look out the window today though. The second issue of Yarn Forward has arrived along with Spring '07 Spin Off (I've just subscribed through Winghams) and two back issues of Spin Off. :-)
I hate Royal Mail. I posted Kerrie's parcel first class last Friday and it arrived yesterday. Good one Royal Mail. It makes me wonder how long second class would have taken. There was much fingernail chewing going on via email but the important thing is that it DID eventually arrive. Even more importantly, Kerrie liked it!
Here 'tis (pic posted with Kerrie's permission of course!) Lovely aran silk in 'Leaf' knit into one of Kerrie's own designs. I lurve knitting with this silk!
What's this? Could it be more secret knitting? We'll have to wait and see...

I've put some Jaeger Matchmaker Merino DK on Ebay. Its a colour I just know I won't wear. Have a look here if you're interested. :-)
Another FO to show. This is a hat for my soon-to-be great neffy-poo. I found the pattern here. I had to buy the green (70p from my LYS - no other purchases!!!) but the red came from Mum's stash. The pattern has leaves but I preferred it without.
I discovered some real wool on the yarn stand in the market. She's normally a good place for dishcloth cotton and acrylic but she had some variegated and solid colour Elle merino. Once again I was good and didn't buy any although it almost killed me to walk away! Ah well, there'll be another trip into town...
Now, I really must get on with what I was supposed to be doing today!
A pair of Horcrux socks from the Six Sox KAL yahoo group. SWTC's Tofutsies in colour #720 'Sweep You Off Your Feet' knit on 2.5mm bamboo dpns. These have got me looking forward to the release of the last Harry Potter book. I have it on pre-order at Amazon (yes, I'm that sad!)
Seraphim shawl by Miriam Felton. This was knit for Hip Knits and with their sock yarn. Pic on the right is a close-up of the point. So pretty! I really enjoyed knitting this shawl. It will be posted off to Kerrie tomorrow along with another item that I can't show you as its one of Kerrie's own designs.

On Saturday I went to the Moral Fibre open day with Sue, blogless Dianne and Gareth, her hubby.
I fell off the wagon.
I bought fibre.
Hebridean rovings.
Black Welsh.
Two shades of green merino.
There were a lot of people there.
They had spinning, felting and weaving tasters. Several people were wearing hand knit or hand felted garments. The machines were something else too! I'd love one of the huge carding machines and as for the felting machine... lust is the only description!
We then went to Ludlow to have a wander round the shops and find some food. There is a good yarn shop with lots of nice things like Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Jaeger and they also had Regia sock yarn. I didn't buy any yarn!! There are some lovely black and white buildings in Ludlow. This is the Feathers Hotel.
There's also a good view of Titterstone Clee from the Park & Ride carpark. If you're a fan of Ellis Peters' Brother Cadfael books you'll know that 'The Virgin In The Ice' is set around this area. No sign of either monks, snow or bandits while I was there though. ;-)
